The Research Data Service Center offers members of the University of Bonn the opportunity to professionally publish research data, in a citable and visible manner with the bonndata  service.

The repository meets the criteria of the FAIR principles for the re-use of research data, according to which stored data sets should be as findable (findable), accessible (accessible), usable (interoperable) and provided with clear terms of use (reusable).

bonndata is the institutional, cross-disciplinary research data repository for the publication of research data for all researchers at the University of Bonn. This data typically derives from completed academic/scientific studies and projects.

Please note that bonndata is not a platform for publishing text publications. For this, please use the publication server bonndoc.

Publication of your research data in a repository like bonndata ensures the traceability, reproducibility and transparency of research results while heightening the visibility of research data through independent publication. Additionally, the published data can be used to address new research questions. With bonndata you can therefore share your data according to the FAIR principles. Your dataset will be a findable and citable publication. Access to the data can be restricted if necessary.

When a research dataset is published on bonndata, it is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). The dataset also gets a dedicated DataCite entry enabling it to be found worldwide. The research data can then be viewed by third parties, downloaded and reused in other contexts, depending on the granted terms of use.

bonndata is provided free of charge.
